Shuang Li

Born and grown up in People's Republic of China , Shuang Li received her B.A degree in Graphic Design, M.A in Art Theory and History.  She was an art professor of Qinghua University, Beijing before moving to the United States . Shuang then received her M.F.A from The Department of Art, University of Oregon, one of the largest and most unique art departments in the Northwest.

As an artist, Shuang has explored varies medium such as gouache, watercolor, colored pencil and mixed media over the past two decades. In recently years, Shuang has been focusing on painting with watercolor, and doing additional work with internationally known artist and instructor Tony Couch. She now uses landscape as her primary subject for exploring color, light, and texture. Her latest landscape of California and west states series are rich in color and sure of striking scenes, clearly demonstrated strong influence from Tony Couch and the earlier pioneer Edgar A Whitney with their famous watercolor panting design principles.

Member of California Watercolor Association and San Diego Watercolor Society, former member of Pacific Art League in North California, Shuang’s art work has been exhibited in several galleries and group shows in the west with honorable awards. She lives with her husband in Escondido, California.

Shuang's professional skills are not limited to the realm of art making. Through the years, she has been successfully involved in many aspects of art and design related areas in Northwest and Silicon Valley. She was instructor of an illustration course, and a popular Chinese brush painting teacher while she was at Graduate School of University of Oregon. During mid 90th, Shuang owned and operated Image Online, an illustration and design studio created traditional and digital art and designs for multimedia products for many Northwest and Silicon Valley companies. Later she funded LINKSTWO Design and Studio in year 2000, continues her efforts of watercolor painting, and promoting aesthetic and usefulness design standards for software and web site designs.
